Visit Lakeland HealthCare at the Berrien County Youth Fair
(ST. JOSEPH) – Lakeland HealthCare will provide free health information and wellness activities for all ages at the Berrien County Youth Fair, Monday, August 16 through Saturday, August 21. Lakeland team members will be located in Commercial Building 37, booths 65-70, Monday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day, Lakeland partner physicians will be on hand to answer your medical questions.

Health activities and information will change daily:
· Monday, August 16 – Heart Healthy Day: Lakeland will focus on heart health, with information on heart disease awareness. Team members from Lakeland’s new chest pain center will educate visitors on the signs of a heart attack.

· Tuesday, August 17 – Healthy Eating Day: Featured exhibits will include nutrition, weight loss, and diabetes management. Look for “Rockwell the Raccoon,” Lakeland’s mascot, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

· Wednesday, August 18 – Active Living Day: Community members can learn how to stay active at all ages from Lakeland Rehabilitation Services team members and representatives of the We Can! Healthy Berrien initiative to encourage healthy lifestyles.

· Thursday, August 19 – Safety Day: Safety topics will include sexual assault awareness and preventing falls. Look for “Rockwell the Raccoon,” Lakeland’s mascot, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

· Friday, August 20 – Senior Care Day: Staff from Lakeland Homecare, Lakeland Continuing Care Centers, and Van’s Medical Equipment of Lakeland will be on hand to show visitors the many ways they can help relatives stay independent longer and safer. Visitors can also learn about Bones in Balance, a Lakeland program designed for people affected by osteoporosis and osteopenia.

· Saturday, August 21 – Cancer Care Day: Lakeland will raise awareness of cancer prevention, detection, and treatment options. Information will be available about the Marie Yeager Cancer Center, currently under construction at the Lakeland Health Park in St. Joseph. The first 250 children to visit the Lakeland booth will receive a free pair of sunglasses after learning the importance of sun safety.
