| Dr. Dennis Thompson Earns Sleep Medicine Certification |
| (ST. JOSEPH) – Ear, nose, and throat specialist Dennis Thompson, MD, FACS, of Lake Michigan Sinus and Sleep Apnea Center in St. Joseph, is now board certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. The American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) is an independent organization developed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining standards of individual proficiency in clinical polysomnography, or the scientific evaluation of sleep. Certification as a Diplomate of the ABSM indicates a substantial professional commitment to sleep medicine and expertise in diagnostic and treatment skills special to the field. Dr. Thompson earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee, where he also completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in otolaryngology. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolarynology, is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Facial and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Thompson has practiced in southwest Michigan since 1997 and has served as President of the Berrien County Medical Society and Chief of the Medical Staff at Lakeland HealthCare.
